The Yankees top this all-time ranking of MLB, NFL, NBA and NHL franchises, which counts only titles won in a team's current metro area. Their 27 World Series are the most in baseball, and they sit one spot ahead of the Canadiens' 24 Stanley Cups. 🏆
Offseason mode is on at Pinstripe Alley: Cody Bellinger gets a passing grade on his report card, Mickey Rivers gets a birthday nod, and Gary Sanchez is revisited as a World Series champion, well after his pinstripe days. Qualifying offers and options loom. 📋
Ashley Rodon's Instagram reflection on 12 seasons ("This season felt different") put Carlos Rodon's future in focus. She didn't hint at retirement. He went 7-3 with a 2.67 ERA over 16 starts, and the Yankees must weigh that against his availability for 2027. 🤔
The Yankees' offseason is about to be squeezed into one month before the expected Dec. 1 lockout. Qualifying offers (Monday), Rule 5 protection (Nov. 17) and non-tenders (Nov. 20) all loom, so November could be busier than usual. ⏳
Brewers skipper Pat Murphy, mid-World Series celebration, jokingly knocked a "horses—" Yankees team in a clip to Jake Bauers, likely using them as a big-market stand-in. Randy Levine also expects a labor deal despite the Dec. 1 CBA deadline.
David Bednar went 35-for-39 in save chances in 2026 with a 2.47 ERA and 76 strikeouts, and a reunion is being pushed as an offseason priority for the Yankees. Cost and outside interest are the hurdles, but replacing that reliability won't be easy. 🔒
A fan-submitted trade pitch would send Carlos Rodón, Jasson Domínguez and prospect Kyle Carr to the Giants for Rafael Devers. It's only a proposal, but it could add lefty power for Yankee Stadium's short porch. Devers hit 31 homers against New York as a Red Sox player. 🔄
Paul Goldschmidt has elected free agency, making the first baseman a Yankees free agent free to sign with any club. The news lands about three weeks after New York's ALDS sweep by Tampa Bay, so first base now has a question mark. 🔍
Moving Cody Bellinger to center could backfire: he led MLB left fielders with 21 Defensive Runs Saved and is a Gold Glove finalist there. With Trent Grisham heading to free agency, the Yankees need a center-field plan without gutting left. 🧤
Paul Goldschmidt is officially a free agent, one of 10 Yankees to hit the market after the World Series ended. His 2026 line: .252/.313/.452, 18 HR, 111 wRC+, mostly feasting on lefties. With Ben Rice and younger options in place, a return looks uncertain. 🧢
Brewers' World Series run was powered by a 1.38 postseason bullpen ERA, and the Yankees' pen, which ranked just ahead of Milwaukee's in regular-season ERA, threw far fewer innings. Shortening games should be a Yankees offseason priority. ⚾
Paul Blackburn hit free agency after a breakout 2026: 1.59 ERA over 85 innings across 62 games. Yankees on SI expects New York to let him walk, prioritizing closer David Bednar and Matt Blake's next reclamation project. 🔧
Jazz Chisholm Jr. hit free agency, and the Yankees are predicted (per Jon Heyman) to skip a $23.15M qualifying offer and let him walk, reserving one for Bednar. Chisholm says he hopes to return; Garcia Jr., Volpe and Caballero are in-house options at second base. 🔍
Yankees must decide on a $23.15M qualifying offer for closer David Bednar (2.47 ERA, 35 saves in 2026). Jon Heyman reported via SNY that the offer is expected, but nothing's official. Accept, and he's back for a year; reject, and compensation may follow. ⚾
David Bednar is officially a free agent, and the Yankees must price their 35-save closer, who is likely headed for the richest deal of his career. His 2026 line: 2.47 ERA, 35 saves in 39 chances. No obvious successor on the roster. 🔒
Michael King declined his $28M option with the Padres and hits free agency. The Yankees could reunite with him if they trade rotation depth, like Ryan Weathers, for a bat such as Isaac Paredes. That's speculation, not a done deal. 🔄
Ten Yankees officially hit free agency after the Brewers won the World Series: Jazz Chisholm Jr., Trent Grisham, David Bednar, Paul Goldschmidt, Blackburn, Schreiber, Yarbrough, Hill, Rosario and Fulmer. The offseason to-do list just got longer. 📝
Ten Yankees hit free agency after the 2026 World Series. The argument: extend the qualifying offer (just over $23M) to Jazz Chisholm Jr. as the primary second baseman, let Trent Grisham walk, and weigh David Bednar's QO cautiously. 🧾
Yankees are reportedly expected to target Padres lefty Adrian Morejon (2.83 ERA in 2026) as a top free-agent priority. Projections of roughly $42M over three years are speculation, and Bednar's expected return would push him up the list. 🎯
Brewers manager Pat Murphy took a profanity-laced shot at the Yankees while celebrating Milwaukee's first World Series title. Jake Bauers, once a struggling Yankee, is now a Brewers star headed to free agency, and New York's ALDS sweep by the Rays stings more. 🧾
