Transaction Alert: DH Josh Bell has elected free agency and is now a free agent. The Minnesota Twins have been notified. 📋
Kala'i Rosario spent 2026 adjusting to inconsistent playing time after a June 22 promotion to Triple-A St. Paul. He played just 11 games in 35 days, hit .361 with a 35% strikeout rate, and called it prep for big-league pinch-hit work. 🔧
MLB Trade Rumors (Twins): Josh Bell’s Mutual Option Declined
The 2006 Twins may be the most hardware-heavy season in franchise history: Morneau won AL MVP, Santana the Cy Young, Mauer the batting title (.347), and Hunter a sixth straight Gold Glove. Four stars, one ALDS thud. 🏆
Twins kicked off the offseason with housekeeping: Anthony Banda, Tristan Gray and Aaron Sabato cleared waivers and were outrighted, becoming free agents. Banda, out until at least July after lat surgery, isn't a priority to bring back. 🧹
Offseason calendar is set, and the Twins' key dates stack up before a Dec. 1 lockout looms: Jeffers' QO decision, Bell and Ryan options, and a Nov. 20 non-tender deadline with Lewis, Ober, Larnach and Wallner flagged as candidates. 📅
The Twins cleared three spots on the 40-man roster, outrighting lefty Anthony Banda, 1B Aaron Sabato and IF Tristan Gray. Banda's torn lat should sideline him well into 2027, and the 2020 first-rounder Sabato never solved the strikeout problem. 🧹
Twins face 40-man roster cuts as the compact offseason begins. Matt Wallner, optioned May 14 and never recalled, is the headliner. He hit .167 with 53 strikeouts in 34 games, then 25 homers in St. Paul. A trade is possible before any cut. ✂️
Arizona Fall League check-in: Kyle DeBarge is hitting .367 (1.071 OPS) and Yasser Mercedes .302/.389/.488, while Cleiber Maldonado shows promise (7 K in 4.1 IP). Lares and Dunn, both coming off major arm injuries, have struggled. 🍂
Twins awards season looks quiet, but Brooks Lee is a Gold Glove nominee at third base after moving from shortstop. He also posted a 2.8 fWAR season. BBWAA finalists look unlikely, though downballot ROY or MVP votes are possible. 🧤
The offseason sim is on: a new OOTP 27 tournament pits 16 fictional teams built from common Twins and Senators surnames, sorted by letter. Each player appears in his best MLB season, and the 162-game schedule leads to a playoff for the "Word Series." 🔤
A writer floats a Sonny Gray reunion as the Twins' best early-offseason move. Gray would be a high-impact veteran to lead the staff, despite no obvious rotation need. A looming lockout could compress the market before December 1. 📞
Jeff Hoffman had elbow arthroscopic surgery Tuesday to remove bone chips, and the Twins expect him ready for 2027's start. He begins throwing in eight weeks and is pitched as the bullpen's leader, pushing the young core to learn from a missed October. 🔧
Jeff Hoffman had arthroscopic elbow surgery to debride the joint and remove a bone chip. The Twins expect him to start throwing in eight weeks and be ready for 2027. He posted a 2.50 ERA over 18 innings after the deadline trade. 🔧
Twinkie Town's offseason poll series ranks the greatest Washington Senators, the franchise that became the Twins in 1961. Round 1 features Walter Johnson (417 wins, 3,509 K), Sam Rice, Goose Goslin, Joe Judge and Buddy Myer. ⚾
Culpepper, Jenkins and Rodriguez debuted in August and September and kept rookie status for 2027, so one could chase the Twins' first Rookie of the Year since Cordova in 1995. Shelton wants excitement, not pressure. Jenkins opened 4-for-45. 🔭
Twins 2023 12th-rounder Paulshawn Pasqualotto climbed from High-A to Triple-A in 2026, posting a 3.73 ERA and 12.21 K/9 overall. He finished with St. Paul at a 36.2% strikeout rate, pounding the zone without compromise. 🎯
Twins fans get a Monday roundup: Vikings and Wolves are unbeaten, but the Twins are the designated misery team. Reads cover the paradoxical 2026 season, avoiding another late slide in 2027, Royce Lewis' future, and Joe Ryan's 2027 approach. 😬
Royce Lewis' 2027 role is the Twins' existential offseason question. He stayed healthy in '26 and grew into first base after a Triple-A stint, but a bat-first spot demands more offense. His fix: chase less. 🎯
